Hockey - Boys Junior Varsity vs. Trinity Pawling
Event Type: Regular
Advantage:Home
Date: February 25, 2012
Result:Loss
Score:1 - 9
Event Recap:

The Berkshire Bears boys' jv hockey team finished a great season today losing to a tough Trinity-Pawling team 9-1.  Will Knight scored the lone Berkshire goal with an assist from Dan Driscoll.  Sean Tallifer and Calder Ryan split time between the pipes.  For Hayden Provost and Tallifer, this was their last hockey game in a Berkshire uniform.  Their unselfish play and strong leadership will be sorely missed by coaches and players alike.  Upon reflection, this game was closer than the score indicates, especially since 6 TP goals came within the last four minutes of each period.  Fatigue certainly played a role as the Bears were down three players to injury, but, more than anything, the boys never got in synch, forgetting to play the kind of fundamental hockey that has been the signature of the past three weeks.

This was frustrating for everyone, but, true to form, the mood in the locker room after the game was upbeat.  As coaches, we could not have worked with a better group of boys.  Everyone in the room was committed to the team concept, and, at one time or another, every boy played a critical role in the team's success.  As individuals, every player improved as a hockey player.  And every player grew as a young man.  As coaches, we were honored to play a small role in their development.  Many thanks to the boys and their loyal parents for their support and commitment!

Sincerely,

Coaches O'Rourke and Clough.
