The Bears were back on the road on Saturday to face the Wapiti from Winchendon. Berkshire dominated the game and outshot Winchendon by a significant margin, but it would take a late goal for the Bears to earn the victory. Berkshire fell behind halfway through the first period and soon thereafter suffered the loss of senior defenseman Jake Kulevich to a lower body injury. The Bears would fail to convert on the ensuing power play and took to the locker room to regroup trailing 1-0.
In the second period Charlie Corcoran '14 would get the Bears on the board with a gutsy effort banging in a rebound off the rush. The Bears would concede the lead late in the period though as Winchendon was able to score in the last minute of the stanza.
Berkshire battled in the third to tie the game when Henry Corcoran '12 scored off the rush with assists from Brendan McGovern '12 and Greg Smart '12. Smart would eventually net the go ahead goal with just under five minutes left in the game. He gathered the puck off the side boards and circled into the slot where he ripped a low snap shot just over the Winchendon goaltender's pad. The Bears would thwart late flurries by the Wapiti to secure the hard fought road win.
The Bears are back on the road Monday as they travel to Millbrook.
