Berkshire was on the road Saturday to face the Brunswick Bruins down in Greenwich, CT. The Bears looked good early scoring the first goal of the game shorthanded when Jeff Thompson '14 caught a clear from goalie Dillon Cunningham '15 and took of on a fast break. Thompson dished the ball to Ben Brigham '15 who drew the defender and found Noah Arin '15 who beat the Brunswick goalie. Bears up 1-0 early. Brunswick would answer with a couple goals of their own to make the score 2-1 after the first quarter.
The game would continue to be back and forth, with both teams scoring three in the second quarter. Noah Arin scored his second and third goals of the game and Sam Merritt added a goal and an assist as well. The teams headed into the half with Brunswick ahead 5-4.
Whatever the Bears did/said at half did not work because the third period would witness seven unanswered goals from Brunswick. It seemed like the Bruins capitalized on every Bears mistake and like Berkshire had run out of steam.
Arin would add his fourth goal of the game in the final stanza, but the damage was done. The guys played hard, but we came up a little short. Final score Brunswick: 13, Berkshire: 5.
The Bears will face Gunnery at home on Wednesday in their final game of the season.
