The Bears hit the road Wednesday for their game at Millbrook. Rain filled afternoons had limited the Bears' practice time this week and it took the team some time to get going. The first quarter saw the teams play to a 0-0 tie. Berkshire settled down a bit in the second quarter. They got on the board first when Sean Taillefer '12found Ras Steinreuck '13 open on the crease on a man-up situation. Rasconverted to put the Bears up 1-0. Goals from Ben Brigham '15, Hayden Provost '12 and Noah Arin '15 would help the Bears extend their lead to 4-2 at the half.
Berkshire challenged themselves at the half to continue to improve. They set out to have a big third quarter and they did just that. The Bears outscored Millbrook 6-0 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Goaltender Dillon Cunningham '15had some impressive clears and the entire defensive corps of Steve Halperin '13, Troy Bernier '14, David Eagan '13, Michael Schiffer '15, Griffin Conway '12and Brooks Kiley '15 did a nice job defending and starting the attack by winning ground balls and being efficient in their clearing attempts.
Goaltender Chris Jiambalvo '13 played well in the fourth quarter action and the Bears extended their lead 14-3 on goals from Sam Merritt '14, Ben Brigham '15, Peter Hoover '14 and Charlie Citrin '12.
Berkshire will be back in action this Friday when they play Canterbury.
