Event Recap: The Bears traveled to Trinity-Pawling School after seeing their 5-game winning streak snapped in overtime just two days prior. Berkshire's attack struck quickly and posted a trio of goals from freshman Jimmy McKee and sophomore George Frick. With a 3-1 lead heading into the second quarter, the Bears began to execute their offense with greater precision, making quick and effective cuts into open lanes and moving the ball to the open man. Sam Merritt and Sean Taillefer made significant individual contributions to help extend the Bears' lead and the half ended with at 8-2. Though the team appeared to be in control entering the second half, the pace of the game slowed significantly, a few penalties were accrued, and Berkshire's defense was more passive. As a result, Trinity-Pawling clawed their way back into the game and by the end of the third quarter the score was 8-5. Fortunately, the Bears responded with a renewed sense of urgency to finish the job. Both offensive and defensive efforts improved, goaltender Dillon Cunningham made several key stops, and Merritt gathered the final goal of the game to give the Bears a victory and a 9-5 final score. |
