After an exhausting couple of days, the Bears were looking forward to getting on the courts against rival Taft School. The doubles point had the Bears second guessing themselves. All three teams started slow and finished slower. The Taft team looked to be on their way to a convincing win. However, the Bears righted the ship in the singles portion. Hayden Dunham won convincingly in straight sets. Joey Ross played two very close sets. Miles Busby dropped the first set and won in two additional close sets. PJ Webb won the first, dropped the second and cruised in the third. Coach Bjurlin was extremely proud of his team and the way them demonstrated many different ways to win. The Bears host Canterbury on Saturday. |
