Date: March 31, 2012
Result:Win
Score:10 - 7
Event Recap:
On a cold and wet Saturday, the Bears went south to play Rutgers Prep in NJ.  Nate Summers '14 started on the mound for Berkshire (2-0).  Prep put 2 runs on the board in the first to take the lead, but Berkshire rallied in the top of the third with 2 runs of their own to tie it.  Ryan Summers '13 led off the inning with a line drive HR to get the Bears started.  Christian McCormick '12 followed with a single and would later score when Pat Feeley '12 drove an outside pitch to right field for a single.  Summers held Prep in the bottom half of the inning and the bats came alive in the top half of the 3rd, scoring 6 runs off of 5 hits.  Charlie Dillon '12 came in relief for Nate Summers and was able to keep the lead and secure the win.  McCormick, Nate Summers, Kevin Rooney '12, Isiah Nunez '14, and Gus Harms '12 all had multi-hit days for the Bears.  In the field, Nunez made a smooth diving play at 3B and was picked up by Pat Feeley at 1B with a timely pick.  With bases loaded and two outs in the sixth, Sam Perkins '14 made an amazing sliding catch in left field to save at least two runs and maintain our momentum.  An overall great day at the plate for Berkshire and improved in the field with only two errors.  Next, Berkshire heads north to face a competitive Blair team.
