Event Recap: Berkshire was 10th of 15 teams The Berkshire girls cross country team, a small but mighty crew, put forth a great effort on Saturday at the New England race at Groton School. The entire team of qualifying runners impressed their coaches by overcoming illness and injury in the pursuit of their goal: competing to the best of their ability in the biggest race of the season. We are tremendously proud of their effort and determination. As a team, the girls placed 10th of 15 schools, edging out some much larger teams. Racing for the Bears (in order of finish) were: Hilary Rawding, Tia Shaw, Julia Slyer, Francesca Ghi, Elsie Guevara, Swetha Kodali, and Bea Alexander (who ran the majority of the race with one shoe after the mud swallowed up the other shoe!). Hilaryfinished 6th overall of 105 runners. She earned All-New England status and an invitation to the "NEPSTA Meet of Champions" on November 19th at St. Mark's. Congratulations to all the girls and good luck, Hilary!
