Girls Cross Country Inquiry Form
The girls’ cross country program takes advantage of Berkshire’s beautiful setting with a course that has striking views of the campus. The course is challenging, but idyllic in that it truly incorporates a variety of different terrains. There are hills, meadows, woods, and even a brook to cross. It is clearly marked each year per NCAA regulations, with double white lines and directional signs. Additionally, favorite running loops on country roads in the surrounding rolling hills of southwestern Massachusetts provide even more territory than Berkshire’s own 550 acres. Berkshire runners compete in the annual Canterbury Invitational, a number of Division I and II dual, tri, and quad meets, and the New England Prep School Championship - which Berkshire has proudly hosted a number of times. Graduates of the Berkshire cross country program have gone on to run at a host of colleges and universities.
