Living at Berkshire
Being a boarding student at Berkshire School is a privilege
because you are a member of a
family unlike any you have known before. Your parents are your teachers, your
coaches and your advisors. Your
siblings are your classmates, cast mates, teammates and best friends. Your neighborhood is safe and
beautiful.
Of course, there are responsibilities that come with being
part of any family. You will be asked to keep a clean room, to get proper sleep
and to exercise in order to help you manage our rigorous academic demands. And you will be asked to share, listen
and compromise in order to grow as a human being. At Berkshire, we believe deeply in what family teaches us
about ourselves and others.
The adults living in the dorms are committed to creating an
environment where students are safe, emotionally and physically, and they have
chosen to devote their lives to helping young people work together to become
better than the sum of their parts.
There is no mystery to how they do this: like our students, they work hard and they care deeply.
Our dorms are modern and range in size and feel, but they
share in common a comfortable living space designed specifically to allow our
students to grow emotionally and intellectually.
