An ebullient mood pervaded campus during Spirit Week and Winter Carnival recently. Highlights included Spirit Week outfits (Twins Day, Green/Gray Day, Mismatch Day, Cross-dressing Day), Friday Night’s events (Tug of War, Dog Sled Races, Broomball, Ice Performances) and Saturday’s Dorm Skits and campus-wide Trivia Night. Students competed in teams to amass points.
Winners:
Boys’ Overall: Buck (then Dewindt, Allen, Day Students, Eipper, Stanley)
Girls’ Overall: MacMillan (then Spurr/Senior House, Godman, Day Students, CGR)
Competition was, as always, fierce for Mr. Gulotta’s famed Trivia Night honors. The boys of Buck emerged victorious, with the day students coming in second, followed by a combined team from Spurr and Senior House dorms.
Subin Lee, representing Spurr, won the t-shirt contest. Shirts bearing her design will be sold through the bookstore soon.
A community-wide debt of gratitude is sent to Katherine Simmons, who organized all the festivities, and to Bill Gulotta, who oversaw his always-popular Trivia Night. Many others supported their efforts, but it is through their leadership that such a wonderful event took place.
