Student Life Overview

In this small, tight-knit community it is not uncommon to find friends from all walks of life, from all grades, and from around the world.  Days are full and busy:  classes from 8 a.m. until 2:45 p.m., an athletic or art commitment in the afternoon, dinner, study hall and then, to bed! But each day brings with it an extraordinary number of opportunities. The opportunity to take Chinese, to take photographs, to take a slap shot from the point. Quite simply, each day offers another safe chance to take a risk, to grow, and to learn -- and another opportunity to succeed.

Your peers will be your biggest cheering section, too.  Berkshire is a community that is comfortable in its skin; it is a welcoming place where you know almost everyone's name before the Look Book comes out, and passing teachers retrieve Frisbees in Buck Valley. Thanks to "vertical housing," every dorm has students from each grade, and sixth formers are called upon to be leaders and role models for all.
